Cleaning up the Frontpage

As much as I like the front page of UOGuide, it partly gives the impression of an abandoned project with the poll and the spotlight etc. not having been updated since early 2016.

The easiest way to rectify this imho would be to simply remove these areas if no one has the time to keep them updated.

But then there would not be any content for the Main Page!

Maybe, but I still think it is better to have a lean Main Page or one with "eternal" (aka non-changing) content, than one with content that wants to be up-to-date and just isn't. First impressions matter and this give the impression of an unattended site, unfortunately.

e.g. common rules for webdesign state: if you don't have regular news or aren't able to regularly fill the news, then don't have them on your website.
