Virtue Atifacts: a few questions

uo guide says this
A hidden counter is incremented with each kill you make. The higher the counter is, the more likely you will receive an item with your next kill. Creatures with higher levels of fame increase the counter faster, though killing while hidden (as is possible with pets) will result in fewer "points" being earned. The counter resets to zero when an artifact is achieved.

Does all damage type ( sword, spells, pets, etc) count towards this counter?

Does each person have a counter or the dungeon as a whole?

Do you need luck items to get the artifact?

thanks all in advanced for answers that help.

Which article are you talking about? A page link would help.

Yes, you can earn points with magic, melee, or pets.

The counter is per character, not dungeon.

Luck does not affect the drops.

Another question: There is a chance you get an item, if the chance fails, does the counter reset.
I asked this because my house mate does about 3X more damage then me and only I get artifacts.

The counter only resets if you get an artifact.

is the counter based on who kills it, the last hit to kill it, since she never gets artifacts, and does way more damage then me.

thanks
